Sherwood Announces Sub-$200 BD Player with Multichannel Analog Outs

Sherwood America Inc. has announced the release of their latest Blu-ray player, the BDP-5004. It has an MSRP of $199.95 and will be available in October. Apart from the already-common features (HDMI 1.3, 1080p video, advanced audio decoding, BD-Live), it will feature 5.1 analog audio outputs for playback of high-resolution surround material through receivers lacking HDMI inputs.
Playback formats supported include DVD, VCD, DVD ħR/RW, CD-R/RW, CD, MP3, MP3-CD, most popular codecs including; WMA, MPEG 1, 2 and 4, VC-1, h.264, DivX and JPEG, with media playback available through a front panel USB host input.
