For the week of November 6th, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release Neill Blomkamp's Gran Turismo, starring David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, Archie Madekwe, Darren Barnet, Geri Halliwell Horner and Djimon Hounsou.

Description: Gran Turismo is based on the unbelievable true story of a team of unlikely underdogs – a struggling working-class gamer (Archie Madekwe), a failed former racecar driver (David Harbour), and an idealistic motorsport executive (Orlando Bloom). Together, they risk it all to take on the most elite sport in the world. Gran Turismo is an inspiring, thrilling, and action-packed story that proves that nothing is impossible when you're fueled from within.

Sony's 4K UHD of Gran Turismo contains the film's Dolby Atmos audio, with Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K UHD disc. Blu-ray exclusive extras include deleted and extended scenes and the featurettes The Engine: Driving the visuals, The Pit Crew: The Action and Stunts and The Garage: The Amazing Automobiles, along with the additional featurettes The Plan: The True Story of Jann Mardenborough and The Wheels: The Fast-Acting Cast. In addition to standard packaging, a Best Buy Exclusive 4K UHD SteelBook and a Walmart Exclusive Blu-ray SteelBook will also be available.

Also new from Sony is a Blu-ray for Thaddeus O'Sullivan's The Miracle Club, starring Laura Linney, Kathy Bates, Maggie Smith, Agnes O'Casey, Mark O'Halloran and Mark McKenna.

Studio description: Set in 1967, THE MIRACLE CLUB follows the story of three generations of close friends, Lily (Maggie Smith), Eileen (Kathy Bates), and Dolly (Agnes O'Casey) of Ballygar, outside Dublin, who win a pilgrimage to the sacred French town of Lourdes, that place of miracles that draws millions of visitors each year. Just before their trip, their old friend Chrissie (Laura Linney) arrives in Ballygar for her mother's funeral. The women set out on the journey that they hope will change their lives, with Chrissie, a skeptical traveler, joining in place of her mother. Along the way, old wounds are reopened, forcing the women to confront their pasts even as they travel in search of a miracle.

Finally from Sony this week are two 4K UHD re-releases for J. Lee Thompson's The Guns of Navarone (1961) and Ridley Scott's Black Hawk Down (2001). Both films were previously released on 4K UHD with Dolby Atmos remixes, lossless original audio tracks and HDR10, but these new releases also contain Dolby Vision HDR and come in SteelBook packaging. Blu-ray copies are also included.

New on Blu-ray from Paramount Home Media Distribution comes South Park: The Streaming Wars (2022). The release contains both episodes of the special event. On the same day, Paramount will also release South Park: The Complete Twenty-Sixth Season (2023).

Also coming from Paramount are two 4K UHD upgrades. First is John Landis' Trading Places (1983), starring Dan Aykroyd, Eddie Murphy, Ralph Bellamy, Don Ameche, Denholm Elliott and Jamie Lee Curtis. Sourced from a 4k master supervised by John Landis, Paramount presents Trading Places with Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio and Dolby Vision HDR. An included Blu-ray copy replicates the 2020 Paramount Presents Blu-ray and features a Filmmaker Focus featurette with Landis, as well as a deleted scene with optional commentary, a making of, featurettes and a theatrical trailer.

Then on 4K UHD from Paramount is Richard Donner's Scrooged (1988), starring Bill Murray, Karen Allen, John Forsythe, John Glover, Bobcat Goldthwait and David Johansen. Sourced from a new 4K master, Paramount presents Trading Places with Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio and Dolby Vision HDR. The 4K UHD disc also contains audio commentary with director Richard Donner and over 50 minutes of never-before-seen extras, including several featurettes, ShoWest Clips with Bill Murray and On Set with Bill Murray.

New on Blu-ray from PBS is Ken Burns' documentary The American Buffalo (2023).

The dramatic story of America's national mammal, which sustained the lives of Native people for untold generations, being driven to the brink of extinction, before an unlikely collection of people rescues it from disappearing forever.

New on Blu-ray from Well Go USA is Johnny Strong and William Kaufman's Warhorse One, starring Johnny Strong, Athena Durner, Raj Kala, James Sherrill, Siya Rostami and Michael Sauers.

Description: After a SEAL team helicopter is downed during a rescue mission in Afghanistan, the lone surviving operator must evade hostile insurgents and navigate rough terrain to guide the one living civilian—a traumatized child—to safety.

Well Go USA's Blu-ray of Warhorse One contains a director's commentary featurette and a trailer. For a full disc breakdown, read Jeffrey Kauffman's Blu-ray review.

Finally for new releases, Kino Lorber has a Blu-ray for Charlotte Regan's Scrapper, starring Lola Campbell, Harris Dickinson and Alin Uzun.

Description: This vibrant and inventive father-daughter comedy follows Georgie (Lola Campbell), a resourceful 12-year-old who secretly lives alone in her flat in a working class suburb of London following the death of her beloved mum. She makes money stealing bikes with her best friend Ali (Alin Uzun) and keeps the social workers off her back by pretending to live with an uncle. But when her estranged father Jason (Harris Dickinson; Triangle of Sadness, Beach Rats) turns up out of the blue, she's forced to confront reality. Uninterested in this sudden new parental figure, Georgie is stubbornly resistant to Jason's efforts and they quickly find that they both still have a lot of growing up to do. Dickinson and remarkable newcomer Campbell imbue irresistible charm into this moving and frequently hilarious story of two emotionally tangled people: a grieving kid thrust into adulthood and a father in over his head. Winner of a Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, Scrapper is a joyful comedy about family and fresh starts that believes life's not so much about chasing rainbows as snatching fistfuls in both hands.

Kino's Blu-ray of Scrapper contains audio commentary with Charlotte Regan, a making of featurette and a theatrical trailer.

Turning to catalog titles, ClassicFlix has a Blu-ray for World of Giants: The Complete Series (1959), starring Marshall Thompson, Arthur Franz, Marcia Henderson. Newly remastered from 16mm prints, ClassicFlix presents all 13 episodes of World of Giants with DTS-HD MA 2.0 Mono audio. Extras include an image gallery and a clip from the series 21 Beacon Street. New on Blu-ray from Fun City Editions is Herbert Ross' T.R. Baskin (1971), starring Candice Bergen, Peter Boyle, James Caan, Jane Alderman, Joyce Mandel and Sandy Lipton. The film is making its domestic debut on home video. Extras include a new interview with writer / producer Peter Hyams, new audio commentary by Ben Reiser and Scott Lucas of the 70 Movies We Saw in the 70s podcast and a booklet with a new essay by Kat Sachs.

Coming to 4K UHD from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment is George Lucas' American Graffiti (1973), starring Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, Paul Le Mat, Charles Martin Smith, Cindy Williams and Candy Clark. Sourced from a new 4K master, Universal presents American Graffiti with DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio and HDR. A Blu-ray copy is also included. Extras include a feature-length making of documentary, video commentary, screen tests and more. In addition to standard packaging, a Best Buy Exclusive SteelBook will also be available.

Also coming to 4K UHD from Universal is Tommy Wirkola's Violent Night (2022), starring David Harbour, John Leguizamo, Beverly D'Angelo, Alex Hassell, Alexis Louder and Edi Patterson. Released on Blu-ray in January 2023, Universal's 4K UHD disc adds the film's Dolby Atmos audio and HDR to the 4K UHD disc, while a Blu-ray copy is also included. Extras include an audio commentary, deleted and extended scenes and featurettes. In addition to standard packaging, a Best Buy Exclusive SteelBook will also be available.

Coming to Blu-ray from the Criterion Collection is a box set: Jackie Chan: Emergence of a Superstar (1978-1985) a four-disc set that contains the films Half a Loaf of Kung Fu (1978), Spiritual Kung Fu (1978), The Fearless Hyena (1979), The Young Master (1980), Fearless Hyena II (1983) and My Lucky Stars (1985). All six films are presented from 2K masters (except Half a Loaf of Kung Fu, which is sourced from an HD master) and presented with LPCM Mono audio, as well as alternate stereo and 5.1 Cantonese audio options and various English dubbed audio tracks. Extras include new audio commentaries for The Fearless Hyena and The Young Master by Hong Kong cinema expert and producer Frank Djeng, an interview about actor-director Jackie Chan with author Grady Hendrix (These Fists Break Bricks), archival cast and crew interviews, a promo reel from the 1980 Cannes Film Festival and deleted scenes from The Young Master and more.

Coming to remastered Blu-ray* and 4K UHD from Arrow Video is Peter Weir's Witness (1985), starring Harrison Ford, Kelly McGillis, Josef Sommer, Lukas Haas, Jan Rubes and Alexander Godunov. Sourced from a new 4K master, Arrow presents Witness with a choice of an LPCM 2.0 "Theatrical Dolby Stereo" track (which restores a line of dialogue last heard on Laserdisc), an LPCM 2.0 Home Video mix and a DTS-HD MA 5.1 remix, as well as Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K UHD disc. Extras include new audio commentary by film historian Jarret Gahan, a new interview with cinematographer John Seale, a new visual essay by film journalist Staci Layne Wilson, a 1985 interview with Harrison Ford and legacy extras, including Between Two Worlds - a five-part making of documentary, an interview with Peter Weir, two vintage featurettes and more. *Note: Arrow's remastered Blu-ray of Witness was released a week earlier on October 31st, 2023. Only the 4K UHD edition will be released this week.

Finally this week, Shout Factory have two releases. First, on Blu-ray, is Ernest R. Dickerson's Surviving the Game (1994), starring Ice-T, Rutger Hauer, Charles S. Dutton, Gary Busey, F. Murray Abraham and John C. McGinley. This will be the film's worldwide debut on Blu-ray.

And finally, coming to 4K UHD from Shout is Joel and Ethan Coen's Fargo (1996), starring Frances McDormand, William H. Macy, Steve Buscemi, Harve Presnell, Peter Stormare and Kristin Rudrüd. Sourced from a new 4K master (supervised by director of photography Roger A. Deakins), Shout presents Fargo with DTS-HD MA 5.1 and 2.0 audio options and Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K UHD disc. Extras include audio commentary with Roger A. Deakins, the featurette Minnesota Nice, an interview with the Coen Brothers and Frances McDormand, a trailer, TV spot and more.
