For the week of October 2nd, Walt Disney Home Entertainment and 20th Century Studios will release Dan Trachtenberg's Prey (2022), starring Amber Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, Dane DiLiegro, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush and Julian Black Antelope.

Description: The epic Predator legacy continues with this action-thriller set in 1719 on the Great Plains with a band of Comanches. When Naru, a fierce and highly skilled young warrior, sets out to protect her people, the prey she stalks turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator — leading to a vicious and terrifying showdown.

Disney's 4K UHD release of Prey contains HDR and the film's Dolby Atmos audio, along with a Comanche dubbed audio track in Dolby Digital 5.1. Extras include filmmaker commentary, deleted scenes with optional commentary, an FYC panel with cast and crew and a making of featurette. New on Blu-ray and 4K UHD is Danny and Michael Philippou's Talk to Me (2022), starring Sophie Wilde, Joe Bird, Alexandra Jensen, Otis Dhanji, Miranda Otto and Marcus Johnson.

Studio description: Filmmaking duo (and twin brothers) Danny and Michael Philippou of @RackaRacka YouTube channel fame blend a ghost tale with modern sensibilities of a horror-thriller in their debut feature, Talk to Me. The Philippous collaborate with A24 for Talk to Me.

Lionsgate's Blu-ray releases of Talk to Me contain the film's Dolby Atmos audio, with Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K UHD disc. Extras include filmmaker commentary, the featurette In the Grip of Terror, deleted scenes and a theatrical trailer. An Amazon Exclusive with Bonus Blu-ray and Lenticular Artwork will contain a Q&A with the two directors.

Also new on Blu-ray from Lionsgate is f Nicholas Maggio's Mob Land, starring John Travolta, Stephen Dorff, Kevin Dillon, Ashley Benson, Shiloh Fernandez.and Timothy V. Murphy.

Description: Deep in the heart of Dixie, in a small town struggling with the ravages of addiction, a local sheriff (John Travolta) tries to maintain the peace when desperate family man Shelby (Shiloh Fernandez) robs a pill mill with his reckless brother-in-law, Trey (Kevin Dillon). But the supposedly easy score takes a violent turn, alerting the New Orleans mafia's revenge-seeking enforcer (Stephen Dorff), who threatens Shelby's wife (Ashley Benson) and daughter. With its unpredictable twists and turns, Mob Land is a heart-pounding, action thriller.

Finally from Lionsgate this week is a 4K UHD upgrade for Frank Darabont's The Mist (2007), starring Thomas Jane, Marcia Gay Harden, Laurie Holden, Andre Braugher, Toby Jones and William Sadler. Lionsgate's 4K UHD release of The Mist contains both the color and black and white versions of the film, with Dolby Atmos audio and Dolby Vision HDR. Two Blu-rays contain the extras from the previous Blu-ray release, including audio commentary, deleted scenes, a making of and more. In addition to standard packaging, a Best Buy Exclusive SteelBook will also be available.

Turning to catalog titles, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has a 4K UHD upgrade for Jack Arnold's It Came from Outer Space (1953), starring Richard Carlson, Barbara Rush, Charles Drake, Joe Sawyer, Russell Johnson and Kathleen Hughes. Universal presents It Came from Outer Space with HDR and DTS-HD MA 3.0 audio. Extras include the film in 3D (via Blu-ray 3D on Blu-ray) audio commentary with film historian Tom Weaver, The Universe According to Universal featurette, and the film's theatrical trailer in both 3D and 2D. In addition to standard packaging, the film will also be released as part of the Universal Essentials Collection, packaged in a slipbox, with a reversible sleeve with original artwork, as well as a 34-page booklet, film cel replica, 4 promotional art cards, and a numbered certificate of authenticity.

Also coming from Universal is a 4K UHD upgrade for Scott Derrickson's The Black Phone (2021), starring Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Ethan Hawke, Jeremy Davies, E. Roger Mitchell and Troy Rudeseal. Universal presents The Black Phone with HDR and Dolby Atmos audio on the 4K UHD disc. Extras include filmmaker commentary, deleted scenes, Derrickson's short film Shadowprowler and four featurettes.

the Criterion Collection has a 4K UHD upgrade for Don't Look Now (1973), starring Julie Christie, Donald Sutherland, Hilary Mason, Clelia Matania, Massimo Serato and Renato Scarpa. Sourced from a 2019 4K master by StuidoCanal (approved by director of photography Anthony Richmond), Criterion presents Don't Look Now with Dolby Vision HDR and LPCM Mono audio. Extra features on an included Blu-ray replicate Criterion's 2015 Blu-ray edition, including a conversation between editor Graeme Clifford and film writer and historian Bobbie O'Steen, and archival featurettes and interviews with Nicolas Roeg, Julie Christie, Donald Sutherland, composer Pino Donaggio and more. Reviewer Svet Atanasov gives the release a full five stars in every category and says: "All in all, I think that 4K Blu-ray clearly offfers the most impressive presentation of this classic film". Coming to 4K UHD from Shout Factory is Kevin Tenney's Night of the Demons (1988), starring Cathy Podewell, Amelia Kinkade, Linnea Quigley, Hal Havins, Allison Barron and Alvin Alexis. Sourced from a new 4K scan of the original camera negative, Shout presents Night of the Demons in its uncut version, with DTS-HD MA 2.0 (newly remixed) and 5.1 audio and Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K UHD disc. New extras include the international cut of the film (in standard definition), and interviews with writer / producer Joe Augustyn, actor Jill Terashita and special effects artist Nick Benson. Legacy extras include two audio commentaries with the cast and crew, a 70-minute documentary, archival interviews, The Halloween Party workprint and more.

Also coming to Blu-ray from Shout is a remastered Blu-ray for Brian Trenchard-Smith's Night of the Demons 2 (1994) and the Blu-ray premiere of Jim Kaufman's Night of the Demons 3 (1997). Night of the Demons 2 has been remastered from a new 2023 scan of an interpositive and both Blu-rays contain new filmmaker commentary, new cast and crew interviews, workprints (in standard definition) and more.

Coming to 4K UHD from Paramount Home Media Distribution is Wes Craven's Scream 3 (2000), starring David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Patrick Dempsey, Scott Foley and Lance Henriksen. Paramount presents Scream 3 with Dolby Vision HDR and DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio. Extras include filmmaker commentary, deleted scenes and an alternate ending (both with optional filmmaker commentary), outtakes, behind-the-scenes montage, a music video for Creed's "What If" and more. In addition to standard packaging, a Best Buy Exclusive SteelBook will also be available. On the same day, Paramount will also release Scream: The Original Trilogy (1996-2000), a box set that contains Scream, Scream 2 and Scream 3 on 4K UHD and Blu-ray, as well as a previously-released bonus Blu-ray with additional extras.
