Yellowstone: Season 5 topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its debut. The saga of the Dutton family clearly resonates with disc buyers, as
Yellowstone: Season 4 was the top disc seller on its release back in
March 2022, though on Blu-ray, it placed second to
The Matrix Resurrections. However, fans were recently dealt something of a blow when it emerged that Season 5 would be the final season, with star Kevin Costner departing and a new spinoff series, led by Matthew McConaughey, taking its place. This week,
Yellowstone: Season 5 had an HD share of 20%.
Debuting in second place on both charts is Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's
Knock at the Cabin. The latest film from M. Night Shyamalan opened in February 2023 to positive reviews and became the first film of 2023 to top the box office, taking over $14 million and ending the seven-week run of
Avatar: The Way of Water. Globally, the film has taken in over $54 million. This week,
Knock at the Cabin sold 69% as many Blu-ray units as
Yellowstone: Season 5, with an HD share of 55% and 16% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
And dropping to third place on both charts in its second week is Paramount Home Media Distribution's
80 for Brady. The sports comedy film about four older women--who are Tom Brady superfans--and their trip to see him play in Super Bowl LI in 2017, received mixed reviews upon release in February 2023, but has found an audience, having grossed over $40 million, almost entirely at the domestic box office. This week,
80 for Brady sold 35% as many Blu-ray units as
Yellowstone: Season 5, with an HD share of 31%.
Elsewhere on the charts, Warner Bros. Home Entertianment's
Superman I-IV 5-Film Collection (1978-1987) debuted at No. 6 on the Blu-ray-only chart, RLJE Films'
Children of the Corn (2020) debuted at No. 7, and outside the top ten, Well Go USA's
Unwelcome debuted at No. 14.
