Sandpiper Pictures is preparing Blu-ray releases of Absolute Beginners (1986) and I Could Go On Singing (1963). The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on May 9.
Absolute Beginners
Description: Colin (Eddie O'Connell), an aspiring young British photographer and jazz aficionado, falls for the beautiful Crepe Suzette (Patsy Kensit), a model on the rise. When she leaves him to pursue her dreams of fame, Colin lands under the wing of Vendice Partners (David Bowie), a suave advertising executive, and begins his own climb toward success. As Colin and Suzette get caught up in the promotion of youth culture, they brush up against the era's social issues, including racism.
I Could Go On Singing
Description: Popular singer Jenny Bowman (Judy Garland) travels to London for a big show and while there arranges a meeting with old flame David Donne (Dirk Bogarde), with whom -- 15 years earlier -- she produced a son named Matt (Gregory Phillips). Renewed sparks ignite between the erstwhile lovers while a fresh maternal bond is forged between Jenny and her estranged child. But when a bitter fight erupts between Jenny and David, Matt must decide which of his parents is more deserving of his loyalties.
