Sandpiper Pictures Reveals Additional April Releases

Sandpiper Pictures has revealed that it will four new titles to its Blu-ray catalog this April. They are: Kid Galahad (1962), The Fantasticks (1995), Stanley & Iris (1990), and The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course (2002).

Kid Galahad

Description: Fresh out of the military and flat broke, Walter Gulick (Elvis Presley) takes the only job he can find -- as a sparring partner at the local gym. Willy (Gig Young), the owner of the gym, sees potential in Walter as a professional fighter, and takes him under his wing. Willy hopes that Walter will earn enough money fighting in the ring to help him pay off his many gambling debts. Walter, on the other hand, hopes that he can earn the attention of Willy's little sister Rose (Joan Blackman).

STREET DATE: APRIL 25.

The Fantasticks

Description: Audiences will have a chance to truly remember -- or for the first time discover one of the most popular musical love stories of our times: "The Fantasticks," which for decades has been taking theater-goers on a grand comic adventure of first romance. "The Fantasticks" is America's longest-running theatrical production, but its screen incarnation has been long awaited.

STREET DATE: APRIL 25.

Stanley & Iris

Description: Iris (Jane Fonda) has a rough go of it after the death of her husband. Though still grieving, she needs to support her dysfunctional family and so she lands a job at a bakery. Things start to look up when the kindhearted Stanley (Robert De Niro), a cook in the bakery, comes to her aid after she is mugged. When Iris realizes that Stanley cannot read, she makes it her goal to teach him. As Stanley approaches literacy, their friendship grows into something words cannot express.

STREET DATE: APRIL 25.

The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course

Description: Aussie adventurer Steve Irwin - a.k.a. the Crocodile Hunter - has avoided the death-roll and nabbed another feisty crocodile, hoping to save it from poachers. What Steve doesn't know is that the crocodile has innocently swallowed a top secret U.S. satellite beacon, and the poachers are actually American special agents sent to retrieve it. Crikey! The Crocodile Hunter is out to save the gorgeous crocodile and relocate him.
