Sandpiper Pictures has revealed that it plans to add three new titles to its Blu-ray catalog this April. They are: The Quiet American (1958), Year of the Comet (1992), and Bulletproof Monk (2003). The three releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on April 18.

The Quiet American

Description: During the 1950s, Thomas Fowler (Michael Redgrave) is a British journalist stationed in Vietnam to cover the growing unrest. While in the country, he begins an extramarital affair with a beautiful young Vietnamese woman, Phuong (Giorgia Moll). However, their romance is interrupted by Alden Pyle (Audie Murphy), an idealistic American economist in Vietnam on an aid mission. When Pyle proposes to Phuong, Fowler accuses him of secretly dealing weapons. Australian helmer Phillip Noyce remade The Quiet American in 2002.

Year of the Comet

Description: Margaret Harwood (Penelope Ann Miller) is a young wine expert and the daughter of noted connoisseur Sir Mason Harwood (Ian Richardson). After discovering a rare and very old bottle, Sir Mason sells it to a collector and calls upon less-than-refined Texan Oliver Plexico (Tim Daly) to escort Margaret from Scotland to the South of France to deliver it. Unfortunately, conniving scientist Philippe (Louis Jourdan) has his eyes on the prized bottle, and is willing to stop at nothing to get it.

Bulletproof Monk

Description: For sixty years, a mysterious monk with no name (Chow Yun-Fat) has zigzagged the globe to protect an ancient scroll -- a scroll that holds the key to unlimited power. Now the Monk must look for a new scroll keeper. Kar (Seann William Scott) is an unlikely candidate, a streetwise young man whose only interest is himself. But when he inadvertently saves the Bulletproof Monk from capture, the two become partners in a scheme to save the world from the scroll's most avid pursuer.
