Many of us were really excited to hear that 20th Century Fox was preparing a
Blu-ray release of the
Alien quadrilogy (going as far as
including it as a coming-soon title in a flyer)
and were equally disappointed when
it vanished from the 2009 schedule. Now we
see a possible why: an Alien prequel is in the works, and none other than
Ridley Scott has been signed for the project.
Knowing the studios' modus operandi, the Blu-ray release will be probably
tied in with the theatrical release of the prequel. Of course, this may mean
we are in for a long wait (imdb.com has the project listed for 2011).
