Australian label Chameleon Films has detailed its upcoming two-disc Blu-ray release of Johnnie To's classic gangster films
Election (2005) and
Election 2 (2006). The
release will be available for purchase this March.
Election
Description: Johnny To's all-action thriller is set in the world of Hong Kong's Triad gangs. The death of the leader of the territory's largest gang, some 50,000 members strong, prompts an election tussle between two candidates: the cool Lok and hot-headed Big D. When Lok beats the corrupt tactics of Big D, Big D threatens to upset the investiture.
Election 2
Description: In the wake of his first successful stint at the helm of a Chinese crime syndicate, Lok (Simon Yam) proposes an unheard-of second term. But when government corruption stifles legitimate business interests of Jimmy Lee (Louis Koo) in Hong Kong, the reformed triad operative rises to oppose Lok and regresses into a life of crime. As the conflict erupts into all-out gangland war, the business-minded Lee becomes increasingly brutal in his desperation to secure a comfortable future for his family.
