Sony Partners with Rentrak

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that Rentrak will begin distributing and tracking Sony Blu-ray titles starting in September. The revenue sharing agreement, Rentrak's first agreement for high definition Blu-ray content, gives greater access to Blu-ray content for independent retailers. Rentrak will have access to over 60 Sony catalog titles, along with all future Blu-ray releases. Marty Graham, President of Rentrak's Pay Per Transaction (PPT) Division commented, "Our revenue sharing model is an effective way to establish a significant presence in the market for a broad range of titles and sets the stage for Rentrak to distribute additional high definition content from our large roster of studio partners."
