High-end AV manufacturer Lexicon has announced its first Blu-ray player, model
BD-30. This will sport a THX certification, and it will also support Super Audio CD and DVD-Audio. Image processing comes via Anchor Bay's VRS technology. It is expected to be available later this year and retail for $3,499. It will be presented at the upcoming CEDIA Expo.
Some enthusiasts have already pointed out the similarities in specifications between this model and the
Oppo BDP-83, and wonder whether the Lexicon player will be based on the Oppo platform, with some modifications.
