For the week of August 22nd, Crunchyroll will release a Blu-ray for My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission (僕のヒーローアカデミア THE MOVIE ワールドヒーローズミッション). The third feature film in the My Hero Academia franchise was released in its native Japan back in August 2021 and quickly became the highest grossing film of the series there, eventually grossing over $29 million in Japan alone. In the United States, the film premiered in late October 2021, pulling in a respectable $6.4 million on its opening weekend. Altogether, the film has grossed over $46 million worldwide. Crunchyroll's Blu-ray contains both Japanese (with English subtitles) and English audio tracks, both in Dolby TrueHD 5.1. Extras consist of a preview collection. In addition to standard packaging, a Best Buy Exclusive SteelBook and a Walmart Exclusive with Collectible FigPin will also be available.
Also from Crunchyroll is a Blu-ray for Kingdom: Season 3, Part 1 (2020-2021). The two-disc set contains 13 episodes with both Japanese (with English subtitles) and English: Dolby TrueHD 2.0 audio tracks. Extras include Kingdom promo videos, Talking Kingdom Season 3 with Director Kenichi Imaizumi and textless opening and closing songs.
New from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is a Blu-ray for Naomi: The Complete Series (2022). The three-disc contains all 13 episodes and three featurettes.
New this week from RLJE Films is a Blu-ray for Richard Gray's Murder at Yellowstone City, starring Gabriel Byrne, Thomas Jane, Richard Dreyfuss, Brian Brown, and Anna Camp.

Also from Kino is a 4K UHD upgrade for Stanley Kubrick's Paths of Glory (1957), starring Kirk Douglas, Ralph Meeker, Adolphe Menjou, George Macready, and Wayne Morris. Sourced from a new 4K scan of the original camera negative, Kino's 4K UHD disc presents the film with Dolby Vision HDR. Extras include a new audio commentary with novelist and critic Tim Lucas and the film's theatrical trailer. Collectible packaging includes reversible artwork and a limited edition slipcover.
New on Blu-ray this week from the Cohen Media Group is Jean Chapot's The Burned Barns (Les Granges brûlées) (1973), starring Alain Delon, Simone Signoret, Paul Crauchet, Bernard Le Coq, and Christian Barbier.
Description: Two titans of French Cinema are brought together for this crime drama set in the snow-covered French countryside on the border with Switzerland. The body of a young woman is found savagely murdered near the isolated Burned Barns farm run by Rose (Oscar®-winner Simone Signoret) and her family. The police work begins and the investigating judge, Pierre Larcher (Alain Delon), soon comes to suspect that Rose's family, and in particular her sons, may have played a role. Next this week is a 4K UHD upgrade for Neil Marshall's Dog Soldiers (2002), starring Sean Pertwee, Kevin McKidd, Emma Cleasby, Liam Cunningham, and Darren Morfitt. Presented from a new director/cinematographer-approved 4K scan of the original camera negative done by the UK's Second Sight Films, Shout's release is a two-disc collector's edition, which features the film on 4K UHD and Blu-ray, with Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K UHD disc. Extras include a new audio commentary writer and associate professor of Film Alison Peirse (along with two archival audio commentaries), while the Blu-ray additionally features two new featurettes and a new interview with Marshall, as well as archival extras.
Also from Shout this week is a newly remastered Blu-ray to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Bill Kroyer's FernGully: The Last Rainforest (1992), starring the voices of Tim Curry, Samantha Mathis, Christian Slater, Jonathan Ward, Robin Williams and Grace Zabriskie. Sourced from a new 4K master, Shout's disc also contains a new introduction with Kroyer, which includes previously unseen pencil, character and animation tests. Archival extras include audio commentary, featurettes, a music video, trailers and TV spots.
Coming to Blu-ray this week from the Criterion Collection is Marcel Carné's Hotel du Nord (Hôtel du Nord) (1938), starring Arletty, Louis Jouvet, Annabella, Jean-Pierre Aumont, Paulette Dubost and Andrex. Sourced from a new 2K master, Criterion's Blu-ray presents the film with uncompressed original mono audio and optional English subtitles. Extras include an archival making of documentary aired on French television in 1972, a French documentary on Carné from 1994, a new video essay by filmmaker Jean-Pierre Jeunet and the film's remastered trailer. Reviewer Svet Atanasov gave the Blu-ray perfect 5/5 scores for picture and sound, saying in part that "this recent 2K restoration is quite the revelation". Also coming this week from Criterion is a Blu-ray for Sidney Poitier's Buck and the Preacher (1972), starring Sidney Poitier, Harry Belafonte, Ruby Dee, Cameron Mitchell, Denny Miller and Nita Talbot. Presented from a new 4K master and with uncompressed original mono audio, Criterion's Blu-ray contains several extras, including three TV appearances with Poitier and Belafonte: Behind the scenes (shot on location in Durango, Mexico in 1971), and on the programs Soul! in 1971 and a lengthy appearance on The Dick Cavett Show in 1972. A new program with Gina Belafonte, daughter of Harry Belafonte and a new video essay by film scholar Mia Mask. A leaflet features an essay by critic Aisha Harris. Also coming this week from the Film Detective is a three-disc set: The Tarzan Vault Collection (1918-1935), featuring the films Tarzan of the Apes (1918) and Adventures of Tarzan (1921), both starring Elmo Lincoln, and the film serial The New Adventures of Tarzan (1935) which stars Herman Brix. All three works have been newly remastered for this release and several extras are also on board, including commentaries, interviews and featurettes. New this week from Cult Epics is a Blu-ray for Frans Weisz's Naked Over the Fence (Naakt over de schutting) (1973), starring Rijk de Gooyer, Jennifer Willems, Jon Bluming and Sylvia Kristel. Taken from a new 4K scan of the original camera negative, Cult Epics' Blu-ray features LPCM and DTS-HD MA 2.0 Mono audio tracks in the original Dutch, with optional English subtitles. The disc contains several extras, including audio commentary by biographer Harry Hosman, a vintage behind-the-scenes featurette, a 2014 interview with Weisz and more. Additionally, the first 1000 copies come with a CD soundtrack by Ruud Bos, featuring Sylvia Kristel. Collectible packaging includes double-sided artwork and a slipcover.
Finally this week, on Friday, Deutsche Grammophon will release John Williams and Anne-Sophie Mutter's performance of Violin Concerto No. 2 & Selected Film Themes (2021). Featuring the world premiere recording of the legendary composer's Violin Concerto No. 2, as well as three specially-arranged film themes: "Theme" (from The Long Goodbye), "Han Solo and the Princess" (from The Empire Strikes Back) and "Marion's Theme" (from Raiders of the Lost Ark). The Blu-ray includes video of the concert, as well as a Pure Audio version, with all music in Surround Sound and Dolby Atmos.
