Bug Announced for Blu-ray (Update)

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has announced that they will release the William Friedkin horror film 'Bug' for Blu-ray on September 25th, day-and-date with the DVD release. Cursed with the same theatrical release date as 'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End', this title sparked little attention at the cinema, but on video it's sure to garner a cult following. No specs have been announced, but supplemental features include a commentary track, two featurettes, and the theatrical trailer.

At a rundown desert motel, Agnes (Ashley Judd) begins a tentative relationship with a newcomer named Peter (Michael Shannon). He has a strange charisma, one that offers fearful and unstable Agnes a flicker of hope. When Peter reveals that the military deliberately infected him with a bug and that he has tiny insects crawling under his skin, paranoia begins to envelope the desperate pair.

Update: HighDefDigest.com has received word from Lionsgate that this title is not scheduled for Blu-ray release. We'll keep you updated as more information pops up.
