Samsung Brings Two New Players This Fall

Posted July 11, 2007 09:15 PM by Josh Dreuth

Samsung will introduce two new Blu-ray players this fall, both featuring HDMI v1.3 with the ability to pass Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio to a compatible receiver. The BD-P1400, which will retail for $549, will include support for 24fps video. The BD-P2400, which will retain for $599, will include all the features of the BD-P1400, with addition of the HQV processor (which is currently found in the BD-P1200). The HQV processor is used by Hollywood production studios to professionally de-interlace content. It is a very powerful tool to get the best possible picture from your existing DVD collection as you wait for the titles to be released on Blu-ray. No specific date was mentioned for the release of these two new players, but expect them to hit store shelves in the Sept/Oct time frame.
