For the week that ended on May 28th, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's The Batman topped the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its debut. One of many films featuring the iconic DC Comics character to be produced in the last two decades, The Batman serves to reboot the character's solo adventure films, this time in his early years of crime fighting, when he must team up with Lieutenant Jim Gordon to solve a series of murders being committed by The Riddler. Released in March 2022 after being delayed from 2021 thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, The Batman received critical acclaim and grossed over $134 million on its domestic opening weekend. So far, the film has grossed over $770 million worldwide, becoming the the second-highest-grossing film of 2022. This week, The Batman had an HD share of 78% and 36% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Dropping to second place on both charts in its third week is Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's Uncharted took the top spot on both charts for the second week in a row. Released just weeks after the actor's third Spider-Man film for Sony, Uncharted topped the box office over the President's Day holiday weekend with over $51 million, prompting Sony Pictures CEO Tom Rothman to declare the film--which is adapted from the video game series of the same name--to be the beginning of "a new hit movie franchise". In total, the film has grossed over $148 million domestically and over $401 million globally. This week, Uncharted sold 19% as many Blu-ray units as The Batman, with an HD share of 55% and 14% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

And dropping to third place on both charts after seven weeks is Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's Spider-Man: No Way Home. The third film in Sony's latest Spider-Man franchise picks up immediately from its predecessor, with Peter Parker having been outed as Spider-Man. In desperation, Peter turns to Doctor Strange to try and find a way to make the public forget his identity, but Strange's spell rips open the multiverse and allows enemies from alternate realities to wreak havoc. Opening in December 2021, Spider-Man: No Way Home heralded a return to the cinema for much of the world after almost two years of worldwide pandemic that saw many people stay out of the cinema since March 2020. With marketing that teased appearances from characters in previous Sony Spider-Man film series, fan excitement was at a fever pitch. Topping the box office in its opening weekend with an incredible $260 million and receiving critical acclaim, Spider-Man: No Way Home went on to make over $804 million at the domestic box office alone and over $1.9 billion worldwide, proving that with the right material at the right time, people will get out to their theaters to enjoy the big screen experience. This week, Spider-Man: No Way Home sold 13% as many Blu-ray units as The Batman, with an HD share of 62% and 17% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Elsewhere on the charts, Lionsgate Home Entertainment's X debuted at No. 4 on the Blu-ray-only chart, while Paramount Home Media Distribution's Top Gun moved up one spot to No. 8 and also entered the Top Five Home Media Sellers at No. 4, likely in anticipation of the May 27th release of its long-awaited sequel, Top Gun: Maverick. Outside the top ten Blu-rays, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Studio 666 landed at No. 12, while Shout Factory's new 4K UHD of Lifeforce came in at No. 19, just beating out Arrow Video's 4K UHD of Wild Things, which came in at No. 20.
