For the week that ended on April 23rd, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's Spider-Man: No Way Home again topped the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts. The third film in Sony's latest Spider-Man franchise picks up immediately from its predecessor, with Peter Parker having been outed as Spider-Man. In desperation, Peter turns to Doctor Strange to try and find a way to make the public forget his identity, but Strange's spell rips open the multiverse and allows enemies from alternate realities to wreak havoc. Opening in December 2021, Spider-Man: No Way Home heralded a return to the cinema for much of the world after almost two years of worldwide pandemic that saw many people stay out of the cinema since March 2020. With marketing that teased appearances from characters in previous Sony Spider-Man film series, fan excitement was at a fever pitch. Topping the box office in its opening weekend with an incredible $260 million and receiving critical acclaim, Spider-Man: No Way Home went on to make over $804 million at the domestic box office alone and almost $1.9 billion worldwide so far, proving that with the right material at the right time, people will get out to their theaters to enjoy the big screen experience. This week, Spider-Man: No Way Home had an HD share of 68% and 19% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Such is the power of Spider-Man: No Way Home that Sony's Spider-Man: 3-Movie Collection (2017-2021) came in second place on the Blu-ray chart again in its second week. The Blu-ray release combines all three films featuring Tom Holland as Spider-Man: Spider-Man:Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home and of course, Spider-Man: No Way Home. This week, the Spider-Man: 3-Movie Collection sold 12% as many Blu-ray units as Spider-Man: No Way Home, with a perfect HD share of 100%. No 4K UHD edition was made available.

Debuting in third place on the Blu-ray chart is Paramount Home Media Distribution's Jackass Forever. The fourth main film (not counting spin-off films and direct-to-video extended and unrated cuts) in the comedic stunt series topped the box office on its opening weekend back in February with over $23 million, eventually climbing to over $57 million domestically, and over $80 million globally. This week, Jackass Forever sold 11% as many Blu-ray units as Spider-Man: No Way Home, with an HD share of 59%. No 4K UHD edition was made available.

Elsewhere on the charts, Lionsgate Home Entertainment's The Cabin in the Woods shot back into the Blu-ray chart at No. 5 thanks to a new Best Buy Exclusive 4K UHD SteelBook, with 99% of units sold from the 4K UHD format. However, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's 4K UHD SteelBook release of Heavy Metal did just a bit better, with a perfect 100% of units sold from the 4K UHD format*. The three-disc set, which includes the worldwide debut of the sequel Heavy Metal 2000 on Blu-ray, also took the No. 6 spot on the Blu-ray chart. The only other new release in the top ten was Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Cyrano, which came in at No. 9 on the Blu-ray chart.
