In Singapore today, Philips unveiled its home-entertainment lineup for 2009. Philips is expanding its range of Soundbars (compact one-piece home theater systems that consist of a tuner, a disc player and speakers), including the company's first such device with Blu-ray playback: the HTS8160B.
This model features "Ambisound HD speakers" and supports DTS-HD and Dolby True HD for 7.1-channel surround sound. It also has an iPod/iPhone dock, and a touchscreen remote. List price is $1,999 (a little under US$1,500) and is available now.
