Code Red has dated and detailed its upcoming Blu-ray release of Édouard Molinaro's comedy La Cage aux Folles II a.k.a. Birds of a Feather (1978), starring Ugo Tognazzi, Michel Serrault, Claire Maurier, Benny Luke, Venantino Venantini, Michel Galabru, and Carmen Scarpitta. The release, which will be distributed by Kino Lorber, will be available for purchase on November 23.
Synopsis: Nightclub owner Renato and his transvestite companion/lover Albin becoming involved with the local cops and foreign spies when Albin unwittingly gets his hands on a roll of stolen microfilm. The gay couple then hide out in Renato's native Italy, but find little peace there with their frequent bickering among themselves.
*In the United States, the first film, La Cage aux Folles, is already out on Blu-ray courtesy of the Criterion Collection.
