The long-awaited support of DTS-HD audio on Pioneer Blu-ray player models
BDP-05FD and
BDP-51FD has finally arrived. Fimware version 1.32, just released, enables the decoding of DTS-HD audio and the output of the decoded signal, digitally over HDMI or in analog form over the 7.1 multichannel audio outputs.
The new firmware version aso adds playback of image files from DVD or CD, and adds adjustment for LFE crossover frequency and additional speaker settings. Various stability and performance enhancements are also performed.
In order to update the player, owners should access the
support page on the Pioneer Electronics site and follow the detailed instructions to download a file, burn it to a CD-R and upgrade the firmware.
