The MVD Rewind Collection has announced that it will bring to Blu-ray two new catalog titles: One Dark Night (1982) and The Dark (1979). The two releases will be available for purchase on August 24.

The Dark

Description: In this chilling tale of alien terror, a writer (William Devane, Rolling Thunder) takes a personal interest in a series of baffling, shocking murders in Los Angeles... and evidence suggests the suspect may not be human. Every night "The Mangler" stalks the streets, attacking and mutilating random victims. On the creature's trail is TV reporter Zoe Owens (Cathy Lee Crosby, Coach) and police detective Dave Mooney (Richard Jaeckel, The Dirty Dozen), but the truth behind the murders is far more strange and horrifying than they could ever imagine in this 1979 cult classic from director John "Bud" Cardos (Kingdom of the Spiders, Mutant) and featuring Keenan Wynn (Dr. Strangelove), Casey Kasem (radio legend and "American Top 40" host) and Jacquelyn Hyde (They Shoot Horses, Don't They?) in her Saturn Award® nominated performance.

One Dark Night

Description: World renowned psychic Raymar is found dead after announcing that he had uncovered the secret of how to become even more powerful in death by the use of telekinetic powers. At the same time, two high school girls plan an initiation night for their friend Julie (Meg Tilly, The Big Chill), who is determined to shed her "goody goody" image. Her test is to spend the night locked in the crypt – the same one that Raymar has been buried in that very day.

The crypt soon becomes a battlefield of horror involving unmated special effects with vaults cracking and exploding open, coffins sliding out and splintering open to release decayed corpses at Raymar's bidding.

The climatic surprise ending will chill the audience and consume them with terror in this shocking tale of horror from writer/director Tom McLoughlin (Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives) that takes you beyond fear!
