Our good friends over at The Digital Bits have posted on their "Rumor Mill"
section a peek at some of the catalog titles from Paramount and
Dreamworks that will probably be released on Blu-ray during September
and into the fourth quarter of the year. The list includes the highly
anticipated best-picture Oscar winners '
Braveheart','
Gladiator'and '
Forrest Gump'.
The Blu-ray slate includes:
September 1: 'Braveheart'
September 15: '
Deep Impact', '
Escape from L.A.', '48
Hours'
September 22: '
Star Trek: The Original Series -
Season 2', 'Gladiator:
Extended Edition', '
Galaxy Quest'
November 3: 'Forrest Gump', '
It's a Wonderful Life'
Additionally, the '
Star Trek: The
Next Generation - Original Motion Picture
Collection' will be released on a date still pending, to coincide with the
home video release of J.J. Abrams' '
Star Trek'. It will include
'Generations',
'First Contact', 'Insurrection' and 'Nemesis'. Also, the Star Trek movies
already released as part of a set will be rereleased separately.
Note, however, that all of the above must be considered unofficial until
there is an announcement by the studios.
