In the absence of major new Blu-ray releases, 'Taken' took back the top spot in the BD sales rankings for the week ending May 31, inching past the previous number one, 'Valkyrie', according to data from Nielsen VideoScan First Alert. 'Paul Blart: Mall Cop' stood firm in third place. Boosted by discounts at several retailers, the veteran 'Quantum of Solace' shot back to number four.

The sole new release of the week, romantic comedy 'New in Town', only managed 15th place, selling under a fifth of what 'Taken' did.

Here is the Blu-ray top 10:
  1. Taken
  2. Valkyrie
  3. Paul Blart: Mall Cop
  4. Quantum of Solace
  5. Underworld: Rise of the Lycans
  6. My Bloody Valentine 3D
  7. Terminator 2: Judgment Day
  8. A Bug's Life
  9. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
  10. True Blood: The Complete First Season
As regards market share, the already mentioned 'New in Town' got only 4%. On the other end of the spectrum, 35% of all disc sales of 'Quantum of Solace' during the week were Blu-ray (again, thanks to retailer discounts).

Update
