Australian label Umbrella Entertainment has officially announced and detailed its upcoming Blu-ray release of Steven Kostanski's Psycho Goreman (2020), starring Matthew Ninaber, Kristen MacCulloch, Nita-Josee Hanna, Adam Brooks, and Reece Presley. The release will be available for purchase on March 3.
Label description: Written and directed by Steven Kostanski (THE VOID), of the famed though now defunct Canadian production company Astron 6 (THE EDITOR, FATHER'S DAY, MANBORG), PSYCHO GOREMAN is a light-hearted and ultra-violent, comedy-adventure film about an intergalactic warlord who becomes enslaved by a pair of children on Earth.
Described by Kostanski as "an adult movie that's kind of for kids. Not supposed to be for kids, but it really is", the film is deeply reminiscent of 80s horror – not only the genre itself, but the entire watching experience: "We've all had that experience growing up, in the rental video store-era, when your parents rent you a movie they think is kid-friendly. Or you somehow rent something that's R-rated and you watch it and you feel like you're getting away with murder."
