In a recent interview, director Todd Phillips (of '
Old School' fame) spoke about some of his plans for the upcoming Blu-ray release of his upcoming film '
The Hangover', which is due to hit theaters this Friday. He mentioned that the Blu-ray would eventually feature some cut scenes that didn't make it into the film and that they were "recording one of those picture in picture commentaries".
While this won't be his first film to be released on the high definition format - that honor goes to 'Old School' - it will be the first one he is fully involved in the production. For 'Old School', he admits he "didn't conceive it for Blu-ray", so some things he couldn't do.
And while video has never been a focus of Blu-ray comedies, Phillips is quick to admit, "I think the movie looks pretty good for a comedy. Comedies, sometimes, are not necessarily about the look. This movie, I am proud of the way it looks."
I have it on good authority that this film is absolutely hilarious, so make sure to check it out this Friday and plan on picking up the Blu-ray sometime this fall.
