Scorpion Releasing has announced that it is preparing a Blu-ray release of Jules Bass' film The Daydreamer (1966), starring Tallulah Bankhead, Victor Borge, Patty Duke, Jack Gilford, and Sessue Hayakawa. The release, which will be distributed by Kino Lorber, is expected to arrive on the market later this year.
The film features classic retellings of such popular stories as The Little Mermaid, Thumbelina, The Ugly Duckling, and many more.
Directed by Jules Bass and written by Arthur Rankin Jr. (both of whom worked on the iconic stop motion animated holiday classics Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman), The Daydreamer features voice over work from the likes of Patty Duke, Boris Karloff, Burl Ives, and Tallulah Bankhead.
