Kino Lorber have announced that they are preparing a Blu-ray release of Gilbert Cates' comedy The Last Married Couple in America (1980), starring Natalie Wood, George Segal, Richard Benjamin, and Arlene Golonka. The release will be available for purchase on May 4.
Synopsis: Jeff Thompson (George Segal) and his wife, Mari (Natalie Wood), are contently married, but they are stunned to see many of their friends and neighbors going through separations and divorces. Seemingly surrounded by people with domestic problems, Jeff and Mari begin to question their own relationship. Things get further complicated when Jeff meets the beautiful and free-spirited Barbara (Valerie Harper) and becomes tempted by a clear opportunity for infidelity.
