British distributors 88 Films will add to their Blu-ray catalog three films starring Jean-Claude Van Damme: Maximum Risk (1996), Double Team (1997), and Nowhere to Run (1993).

Maximum Risk

Label description: When French cop Alain Moreau (Jean-Claude Van Damme) discovers the man who looks exactly like him, he enters a whole new world of hurt. The dead man wasn't just the identical twin brother Alain knew nothing about, he was a key player in the Russian mafia. Following the trail to New York, Alain teams up with Alex, (Natasha Henstridge, Species) his late brother's fiancι, and uses the family resemblance to get inside the mob and tear it down from within. But he's playing a very dangerous game...

One of JCVD's very best movies, with maverick director Ringo Lam (City on Fire – the film which inspired Reservoir Dogs) keeping the action at boiling point. 88 Films are proud to present this uncut Blu-ray of an action classic.

Double Team

Label description: What do you get if you take one of the greatest action film stars of his era – that's Jean-Claude Van Damme, from Maximum Risk and Blood Sport – and team him with one of the true masters of Hong Kong action cinema (Tsui Hark, the Once Upon A Time in China trilogy)? You get Double Team, that's what – one of the roughest, toughest, ass-kicking movies that the 90s had to offer.

The Muscles From Brussels is government agent Jack Quinn; his wife has been kidnapped by major-league terrorist 'Stavros' (Mickey Rourke, The Wrestler, 9 1/2 Weeks). The only way he can get her back is with the help of arms dealer Yaz – basketball legend Dennis Rodman – and you'd better believe that sparks are going to fly.

Special Features and Technical Specs:
  • Audio Commentary with Action cinema aficionado & game producer Audi Sorlie & sports writer Chris Ling
  • Theatrical trailer
  • Booklet Notes - Hoop Dreams, The Bonkers World of Double Team by James Oliver
  • Fold-out A3 Poster
  • Numbered slipcase
  • Optional English SDH subtitles for the main feature

Nowhere to Run

Label description: After escaping police custody, wanted man Sam Gillen (Jean-Claude Van Damme, Universal Soldier: The Return, Maximum Risk) finds shelter with single mother Clydie (Rosanna Arquette, Desperately Seeking Susan, After Hours) and her sprog 'Mookie'(Keiran Culkin; Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Succession). But their home is threatened by an evil developer (Joss Ackland – Lethal Weapon 2, Midsomer Murders), and he'll stop at nothing to grab it. Sam can protect them – but what if it means he has to go back to prison?

Part written by Joe Ezterhas(Basic Instinct) and directed by Mark Harmon, director of horror classic The Hitcher, Nowhere to Run was a change of pace for The Muscles From Brussels, balancing the expertly choreographed action his fans know and love with some tender emotion - and he wears it well.
