Olive Films and Blu-ray.com are offering two members the opportunity to win a sealed Blu-ray copy of John Ford's Rio Grande (1950), starring John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara, Ben Johnson, Claude Jarman, Jr., and Harry Carey Jr.
To enter, simply add a comment to this news post with your favorite release from Olive Films' Blu-ray catalog. (There are no right or wrong answers.)
The contest is open to all Blu-ray.com members (membership is completely free, click here to join). A member may only enter a giveaway one time; multiple entries in the same contest will result in disqualification. However, members are free to enter (and win) as many contests as the site offers. Entrants will never be asked or required to post any personal information whatsoever on Blu-ray.com, and will only ever be identified by their Blu-ray.com username. Winners will be asked to provide full name and a valid mailing address via PM, but their personal information will not be shared or retained. Maintaining our membership's privacy is of the utmost importance. The contest will close on Sunday, December 13 at approximately 11:59pm EST, and each randomly selected winner will be contacted soon thereafter via Blu-ray.com PM. Prizes that are not claimed within seven days will be awarded to other entrants.

John Kirby Yorke (the role he inhabited in Fort Apache) alongside Maureen O'Hara (in the first of five films she'd co-star in alongside Wayne) as his estranged wife, Kathleen, a woman set on keeping their son, Jefferson (Claude Jarman Jr., The Yearling), now under Yorke's command, out of harm's way.
Filmed throughout Moab, Utah and the majestic Professor Valley -- photographed in exquisite gradations of black and white by Stagecoach cinematographer Bert Glennon -- Rio Grande offers nuanced observations on love, family, and honor, while firmly adhering to the western genre, showing Ford at his most measured and mature as a storyteller.Written by James Kevin McGuinness (Men of Boys Town) based on the Saturday Evening Post story by James Warner Bellah, Rio Grande features J. Carrol Naish and a supporting cast of familiar faces, many of them from the Ford stock company of actorsincluding Harry Carey, Jr., Ben Johnson, Victor McLaglen, Chill Wills, and Grant Withers.
