Code Red, in association with Kino Lorber, will reissue on Blu-ray Jack Weis' thriller Mardi Gras Massacre (1978), starring Curt Dawson, Gwen Arment, and William Metzo. The release will be available for purchase on February 16.
Synopsis: Mardi Gras Massacre is a nasty and gory 70's horror film set in New Orleans. A serial killer (William Metzo) picks up prostitutes and sacrifices them to the Wind Gods. This monster who literally pulls the hearts out of his victims as part of his sadistic ritual, will stop at nothing. Rogue cops Abraham (Curt Dawson) and Mayer (Ronald Tanet) are hot on his trail and go undercover on the seedy side of Bourbon Street to find the vicious killer before he strikes again. Jack Weis (Quadroon, Crypt of Dark Secrets) wrote and directed this cult classic was banned in the U.K. due to the film's excessive and graphic violence.
