Eagle Rock Entertainment is releasing '
The 70th Birthday Concert' from John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers and Friends on June 29. This concert was recorded at Liverpool's King's Dock on 19 July 2003. No specs have been announced, but you can expect multichannel and stereo lossless audio tracks from the studio.
This concert was held to celebrate John Mayall's birthday and to raise funds for UNICEF, and featured some very special guests, such as guitarists Eric Clapton and Mick Taylor and trombonist Chris Barber.
The two-and-a-half hour show is now presented here in its entirety for the first time: three of the songs from the concert that had to be cut from the original DVD release for space reasons ("Grits Ain't Groceries", "Jacksboro Highway" and "California") now are included within the bonus features. The Blu-ray also features an interview with John Mayall.
The tracklist is as follows:
- Southside Story
- Kids Got the Blues
- Dirty Water
- Somebody's Acting Like a Child
- Blues for the Lost Days
- Walking on Sunset
- Oh, Pretty Woman
- No Big Hurry
- Please Mr Lofton
