Scorpion Releasing will add three new titles to its Blu-ray catalog. They are:
Masque of the Red Death (1989),
California Dreaming (1979), and
The Heavenly Kid (1985). The three releases will be available for purchase this summer.
Masque of the Red Death
Synopsis: Lovely photographer Rebecca winds up in a Bavarian castle at a "Masque of the Red Death" party hosted by the wealthy Ludwig. Mayhem ensues as assorted Poe story devices start doing away with the guests. Directed by Alan Birkinshaw, and starring Frank Stallone, Brenda Vaccaro, Herbert Lom, and Michelle McBride.
California Dreaming
Synopsis: T.T. (Dennis Christopher), a Midwesterner, has traveled to the beaches of California for a dose of the surfin' life. He believes that the people he finds there are glamorous and knowledgeable. They reject his Midwestern nerdiness, make fun of him, and generally give him a hard time for not fitting in and wanting to. However, eventually he figures out that they are no wiser than he is, and that their lives are surprisingly empty. Directed by John D. Hancock, and starring Glynnis O'Connor, Seymour Cassel, Dennis Christopher, John Calvin, and Todd Susman.
The Heavenly Kid
Synopsis: A fearless and suave greaser, Bobby Fantana (Lewis Smith) dies in a drag-racing accident and finds himself in a limbo realm. Advised by a guide named Rafferty (Richard Mulligan), Bobby eventually must go back to Earth and serve as a guardian angel. Bobby's assigned teen is Lenny Barnes (Jason Gedrick), a bright but nerdy kid who is lacking self-confidence and too shy to ask out his dream girl. As Bobby teaches Lenny how to be cool and confident, the two form a close bond.
