Code Red will release on Blu-ray David Fisher's action thriller Toy Soldiers (1984), starring Jason Miller, Tim Robbins, Cleavon Little, Rodolfo de Anda, Terri Garber, and Mary Beth Evans. The release, which will be distributed by Kino Lorber, will be available for purchase on September 1.
Synopsis: While vacationing off the coast of Central America, a group of college students are kidnapped by a rebel death squad who announce plans to execute the hostages. But when one of the students, Amy (Terri Garber, TV's Dynasty, North and South) makes a daring escape, she puts together her own jungle assault team that includes a pair of hard-living combat veterans Sarge (Jason Miller, The Exorcist, The Nickel Ride) and Buck (Cleavon Little, Blazing Saddles, Vanishing Point); and a baseball bat-wielding party animal Boe (Tim Robbins, The Shawshank Redemption, The Player). The time for terrorist negotiations is now over! If the U.S. government won't start a war to rescue its citizens... then this motley crew will! Directed by David Fisher (Liar's Moon) and co- starring Willard E. Pugh (RoboCop 2), Soap legend Mary Beth Evans (Days of Our Lives), Jay Baker (April Fool's Day), Tracy Scoggins (TV's The Colbys) and Martin LaSalle (Pickpocket, Sorceress).
