Kenmec Mechanical Engineering, an electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider based in Taiwan that recently started making Blu-ray players, has stated that it expects to sell 60,000 players under the company's own brand in Taiwan, as well as ship another 150,000 units to ODM clients mainly in Europe and the US during this year.
Earlier this year, Kenmec had announced it was ready to begin production and sale of BD players at a rate of 2,000 players a month. Thus it seems that the company is stepping up production.
Kenmec also plans to expand its product line-up to include mini BD players, BD players with BD burning functionality, IPTVs and portable BD players, the company indicated.
