For the week that ended on May 2nd, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's Bad Boys for Life remained at the number-one spot on both the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media charts. The highest grossing film of 2020 (so far!), Bad Boys for Life was a hit with audiences following its January release. Yes, the film didn't get the best reviews (it has a 59% approval rating on Metacritic), it still grossed over $419 million worldwide on top of its estimated $90-million production budget. This week, Bad Boys for Life had an HD market share of 47%.

Next up on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales rankings was Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Home Entertainment's Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker. The controversial finale to the "Skywalker Saga," The Rise of Skywalker made a big box-office splash following its December release. While the film scored mediocre critical notices (it has a 53% approval rating on Metacritic), it still grossed over $1 billion worldwide on top of its estimated $275-million production budget. The Rise of Skywalker had a very solid Blu-ray market share of 69% and sold 75% as many Blu-rays and 51% as many total units as Bad Boys for Life.

Finally, Warner Home Entertainment's Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge rounded out the top three on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales lists. This R-rated animated adventure uses the origin story of its title character as a means to reintroduce viewers to the iconic video's cast of fighters - and their often graphic "Fatality" moves. Scorpion's Revenge had a strong HD market share of 73% and sold 42% as many Blu-rays as Bad Boys for Life. Regarding the overall package-media list, the film sold 27% as many total units as the Bad Boys sequel.
