British distributor Revolver Entertainment has revealed that it is releasing the
five-title compilation of Werner Herzog-directed documentaries 'Encounters in
the Natural World' on Blu-ray in the United Kingdom in August 31, day-
and-date with the DVD. No specs or bonus features have been detailed at this
time for this five-disc set.
There is no information regarding region coding, although out of the four BDs released by Revolver Entertainment to date, three have been confirmed to be region-free.
The films included are:
Of the five documentaries, only one ('Encounters at the End of the World') has been released in the USA, and it will also be released separately in the United Kingdom the same day.
Even though Werner Herzog rose to fame with the epic films he directed with Klaus Kinski as protagonist, including 'Aguirre: The Wrath of God' (1972) and 'Fitzcarraldo' (1982), his career has gravitated towards documentaries, which like his fiction films, tend to focus on those outside of mainstream society, often individuals who exhibit an egocentric picture of the world. Driven by either madness or harmony with nature, the subjects of Herzog's films exemplify life at its most spiritually extreme.

- 'Encounters at the End of the World' (2007): a documentary on the people who live and work in Antarctica. It was nominated for an Academy Award as best documentary.
- 'Grizzly Man' (2005): the life and death of bear enthusiast Timothy Treadwell, as shown by his own footage of his life close to grizzly bears before he was killed by one of them in 2003, and by interviews with people who knew or were involved with Treadwell.
- 'The White Diamond' (2004): the struggle of an aeronautical engineer who designed and built an airship to fly it over the forest canopies of Guyana.
- "La soufrière (1977): Herzog visits the island of Guadeloupe, on which a volcano is about to erupt, and looks for people who refuse to be evacuated.
- 'The Flying Doctors of East Africa' (1969): a look at the "flying doctors" service of the African Medical and Research Foundation in Tanzania and Kenya.
