Upcoming Scream Factory Blu-ray Releases

Scream Factory has dated five upcoming Blu-ray releases. They are: Orca (1977), The Hills Run Red (2009), Thir13en Ghosts (2001), Tales From The Darkside: The Movie (1990), and Universal Horror Collection: Volume 5 (1937-1946).

Tales From The Darkside: The Movie

Synopsis: The first of three dark tales involves resentful student Bellingham (Steve Buscemi) looking to an Egyptian mummy for help in settling some scores. Then, hit man Halston (David Johansen) is contracted to kill a cat that has terrorized and even killed members of an extremely wealthy family. Lastly, struggling artist Preston (James Remar) witnesses a demon commit a bizarre murder on a city street, but agrees to keep it a secret when the devilish being promises wealth in return for his silence.

STREET DATE: JUNE 30.

Thir13en Ghosts Collector's Edition

Synopsis: A family inherits a spectacular old house from an eccentric uncle. There's just one problem: the house seems to have a dangerous agenda all its own. Trapped in their new home by strangely shifting walls, the family encounters powerful and vengeful entities that threaten to annihilate anyone in their path. Soon the family is joined by an offbeat ghost hunter who is determined to free the spirits imprisoned in the house. Caught in a frantic race to save themselves before it's too late, the human inhabitants realize the house is a riddle which contains the key to their imminent salvation - or destruction.

Synopsis: You heard the story. The one about the goriest, bloodiest splatter flick ever, the one made in the '80s but mysteriously lost. Flash forward to now: Young cinema buffs search for the secret location where the movie was shot, hoping to find the film. What they find is that the goriest, bloodiest splatter flick ever is more than a movie. It's real. And it's happening to them. THE HILLS RUD RED vaults into a whole new level of horror as the terrified interlopers confront a demented killer who covers his hacked-up face with a baby doll mask. Wait, Babyface is just a character from the movie, right? Wrong. He's alive. He's waiting. He's thrilled to meet fans who will die – slowly, gruesomely, shockingly – for his art.

Orca

Synopsis: Ocean-going tale with ecological overtones in which a ruthless profiteering fisherman accidentally kills the pregnant mate of a canny killer whale. It's `Jaws' meets `Moby Dick' as the bounty hunter becomes the target of the enraged, grief-stricken creature's craving for vengeance.

STREET DATE: JUNE 30.

Universal Horror Collection: Volume 5

Synopsis: Volume 5 of the Universal Horror Collection includes four tales of terror from the archives of Universal Pictures, the true home of classic horror. A mobster's brain is transplanted into an ape who carries out his revenge in THE MONSTER AND THE GIRL. A mad scientist turns an ape into a beautiful, but deadly woman in CAPTIVE WILD WOMAN.
