During last January's CES fair, value electronics maker Vizio
announced the launch of its first Blu-ray player, the
VBR-100, a BD-Live model with a list price under $200. An availability date of April was given. However, the player has not launched yet, and the company is now targeting an August release date. No reasons for the delay have been disclosed.
The main specifications for the VBR100 remain unchanged: it will support BD-Live, output 1080p video and decode advanced audio codecs (Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio). Its connections will include a set of multichannel analog audio outputs.
