For the week that ended on February 15th, Twentieth Century Studios' Ford v Ferrari debuted at the number-one spot on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media charts. This racing docudrama - from Walk the Line director James Mangold - proved to be one of 2019's sleeper hits. The film scored terrific critical responses (it has an 81% approval rating on Metacritic), and it has grossed $225 million worldwide on top of its estimated $97.6-million production budget. This week, Ford v Ferrari had a very solid HD market share of 68%.

Next up on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales rankings was Warner Home Entertainment's Joker. One of the year's most divisive, controversial features, this violent character study of the Crown Prince of Crime was a major hit following its October premiere. Despite fairly mixed critical notices (it has a 58% approval rating on Metacritic), it still earned over $1 billion worldwide on top of its estimated $55-70-million production budget and received eleven Oscar nominations, including Best Director, Best Picture, and Best Actor (the latter of which it won). Joker had a very good Blu-ray market share of 71% and sold 53% as many Blu-rays and 51% as many total units as Ford v Ferrari.

Finally, another Warner title - Warner Home Entertainment's Doctor Sleep - rounded out the top three on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales lists. Director Mike Flanagan's sequel to Stanley Kubrick's iconic chiller The Shining, Doctor Sleep underperformed for its distributors. The film got okay critical responses (it has a 59% approval rating on Metacritic), and it then grossed just over $72 million worldwide on top of its estimated $45-to-55-million production budget. Doctor Sleep had a good HD market share of 60% and sold 24% as many Blu-rays and 28% as many total units as Ford v Ferrari.
