Rialto Pictures will bring back to U.S. theaters Francis Ford Coppola's classic thriller The Conversation (1974), starring Gene Hackman, John Cazale, Allen Garfield, Frederic Forrest, and Cindy Williams.

The film will open on March 20 at New York's Film Forum and Landmark's Nuart Theater in Los Angeles in newly struck 35mm prints supervised by Coppola himself.

In the United States, The Conversation is already out on Blu-ray courtesy of Lionsgate Home Entertainment. You can see our listing and review of this release here.

Synopsis: Surveillance expert Harry Caul (Gene Hackman) is hired by a mysterious client's brusque aide (Harrison Ford) to tail a young couple, Mark (Frederic Forrest) and Ann (Cindy Williams). Tracking the pair through San Francisco's Union Square, Caul and his associate Stan (John Cazale) manage to record a cryptic conversation between them. Tormented by memories of a previous case that ended badly, Caul becomes obsessed with the resulting tape, trying to determine if the couple are in danger.
