Kino: Three Upcoming Releases Detailed

Kino Lorber have detailed three upcoming Blu-ray releases: My Gun Is Quick (1957), Return from the Ashes (1965), and Endless Night (1972). All three will arrive on the market this March.

My Gun Is Quick

Synopsis: A private detective helps a prostitute being assaulted, and notices that she is wearing a very unique ring. She is later found murdered and there is no trace of the ring, which turns out to be part of a cache of jewelry stolen by the Nazis during World War II and smuggled out of France after the wary by an American army colonel. The private eye decides to try to find the ring, is hired by the former colonel to find the rest of the jewels, and runs up against a murderous French gang that is also looking for the jewels. Starring starring Robert Bray, Whitney Blake, Patricia Donahue, and Donald Randolph.

Return from the Ashes

Synopsis: From J. Lee Thompson, the acclaimed director of The Guns of Navarone, Cape Fear, Taras Bulba, Eye of the Devil and The White Buffalo, comes this suspenseful thriller based on a novel by Hubert Monteilhet (Scoundrel in White) and adapted for the screen by legendary scriptwriter Julius J. In Paris at the onset of WWII, wealthy Jewish doctor Michele (Ingrid Thulin, The Silence) marries Stanislaus (Maximilian Schell, Judgment at Nuremberg), a penniless yet cunning Polish chess master. She is later hauled off to Dachau and is assumed dead after her failure to return at the war's end. But Michele is not dead after all, and returns to Paris under a new identity to find Stanislaus romancing her beautiful young stepdaughter (Samantha Eggar, The Light at the Edge of the World). Murderous twists and turns abound in this stylish Hitchcockian chiller that co-stars the great Herbert Lom (The Pink Panther Strikes Again).

Endless Night

George Sanders, Britt Ekland, Per Oscarsson, Hywe Bennett and Lois Maxwell co-star in this dark and gripping mystery thriller, masterfully adapted from the novel that Agatha Christie considered one of her personal favorites.
