StudioCanal will restore in 4K and re-release a number of big classic films in 2020. Amongst them are Jean-Luc Godard's
Breathless (1960), David Lynch's
The Elephant Man (1980), Paul Verhoeven's
Total Recall and
Basic Instinct (1992), Sidney Lumet's
Serpico (1973), and Mike Hodges'
Flash Gordon (1980).
As Blu-ray.com reported earlier this year, the studio is also preparing a newly restored version of Gaspar Noe's controversial film
Irreversible (2002). (See additional details and trailer
here).
Other titles that will be re-released next year include Jean-Pierre Melville's
Le Cercle Rouge (1970), Federico Fellini's
The White Sheik (1952), Sydney Pollack's
3 Days of the Condor (1975), and Alexander Mackendrick's
The Ladykillers (1955).
Deadline was first to report the news.
