Upcoming 88 Films Blu-ray Releases

British label 88 Films has announced that it will add a number of new titles to its Blu-ray catalog. Amongst them are Heroes Shed No Tears (1986), Orgasmo (1969), and Come Drink with Me (1966).

Please note that exact technical specs and supplemental features to be induced on these upcoming releases have not yet been announced. They will be revealed as the street date for each release approaches.

Brothers Till We Die

Synopsis: The"Hunchback", a notorious Italian gangster, returns from Rome from Corsica after his imprisonment. Together with his younger brother and other accomplices he plans to raid an armored truck. But things go awry. Directed by Umberto Lenzi, and starring Tomas Milián, Pino Colizzi, Isa Danieli, Salvatore Borghese, and Luciano Catenacci.

STREET DATE: FEBRUARY 24.

Orgasmo a.k.a. Paranoia

Synopsis: A rich and lonely American widow befriends two young people whose motives become suspect. Directed by Umberto Lenzi, and starring Carroll Baker, Lou Castel, Colette Descombes, Tino Carraro, and Jacques Stany.

STREET DATE: FEBRUARY 24.

Macabre

Synopsis: Jane (Bernice Stegers) moves into a New Orleans boarding house after her lover's death, and her blind landlord suspects she is still involved with her dead lover. Directed by Lamberto Bava. Also starring Stanko Molnar, Veronica Zinny, Roberto Posse, and Ferdinando Orlandi.

STREET DATE: FEBRUARY 24.

Heroes Shed No Tears

Synopsis: U.S. officials hire a group of mercenaries to go into the notorious "Golden Triangle" and capture a powerful drug lord. Directed by John Woo, and starring Eddy Ko, Ching-Ying Lam, Philippe Loffredo, Yuet Sang Chin, and Chau Sang Lau.

STREET DATE: FEBRUARY 24.

Come Drink with Me

Synopsis: In ancient China, a violent gang kidnap a general's son to secure the release of their leader from prison. Little do they know that the general's daughter is Golden Swallow, a mistress of disguise, with fighting skills to match. Directed by King Hu, and starring Pei-pei Cheng, Hua Yueh, Siu-Tung Ching, Jackie Chan, and Ying-Chieh Han.

STREET DATE: MARCH 9.

Heart of Dragon

Synopsis: A policeman (Jackie Chan) forsakes his dream of world travel to care for a mentally impaired brother (Sammo Hung), who is later kidnapped by gangsters. Directed by Sammo Hung and Fruit Chan. Also starring Fruit Chan, Hoi Mang, and Ching-Ying Lam.

STREET DATE: MARCH 23.

The 8 Diagram Pole Fighter

Synopsis: The Yang family was the loyal strong-arm of the Imperial army. But a jealous General betrays the Eilte Spearman and their father to the opposing Mongol army. After an ambush of a battle, only two of the seven sons survive. One remains hidden by the family while the other lives on the run. The traitorous general must find them and silence them before either of them can testify to the Emperor of his treachery. Directed by Chia-Liang Liu, and starring Chia-Hui Liu, Sheng Fu, Kara Hui, Lily Li, and Ching-Ching Yeung.

STREET DATE: MARCH 23.

North Sea Hijack

Synopsis: Gripping tale about a group of terrorists who threaten to blow up two North Sea oil rigs by using a stolen ship as a floating bomb. A counter-terrorist is hired by the British government to capture the vessel and bring the villains to justice. Starring Roger Moore, James Mason, Anthony Perkins, Michael Parks, Jack Watson, and George Baker.
