Kino Lorber have detailed their upcoming Blu-ray release of Yves Boisset's thriller
Dog Day (1984), starring Lee Marvin, Miou-Miou, Jean Carmet, Victor Lanoux, and David Bennent. The release will be available for purchase on December 3.
Synopsis: The manhunt is on! Screen legend Lee Marvin (Prime Cut, Monte Walsh, Gorky Park) stars as American gangster Jimmy Cobb, on the lam in France with millions in stolen cash. The air and ground are swarming with police and Cobb's old partners in crime, uniting for one purpose—to kill Cobb and take the loot. His only refuge is a seemingly innocent farm in the rural Beauce region. The heat of the Dog Day reaches a boiling point as two farmers hatch a sinister plan to bargain for Cobb's life—and each wants a distinctly different form of payment. Like a hounded animal Cobb has nowhere to hide… his predators are always lurking in the violent inferno of the Dog Day.
Stylishly directed by Yves Boisset (Dupont Lajoie) and featuring a haunting and beautiful score by legendary composer Francis Lai (Love Story). Based on a novel by Jean Herman (Farewell, Friend) and co-starring Miou-Miou (Going Places), David Bennent (The Tin Drum) and Tina Louise (Day of the Outlaw).
