Upcoming Kino Lorber Blu-ray Releases

Kino Lorber have dated a large batch of upcoming titles. Amongst them are Sergio Corbucci's The Hellbenders and The Specialists, William Wyler's The Good Fairy, and Michael Ritchie's Semi-Tough.

Please note that exact technical specs and supplemental features to be included on these upcoming releases have not yet been announced. They will be revealed as the street dates approach.

The Hellbenders (1967)

Synopsis: The Civil War is over and the South has fallen, but Col. Jonas (Joseph Cotten) has a plan to revive the Confederacy. He raids a Union Army detail and walks away with valuable treasure that he intends to put to use raising another rebel army. Jonas needs to keep the treasure safe during shipment, so he places it in a coffin and forces saloon girl Claire (Norma Bengell) to play widow. Claire is unwilling to do her part, however, and puts herself in danger by opposing the dangerous Jonas.

Kill Them All and Come Back Alone (1968)

Synopsis: During the American Civil War, a Confederate prisoner leads a group of mercenaries on a mission to steal a million dollars in gold from the Union Army. Directed by Enzo G. Castellari, and starring Chuck Connors, Frank Wolff, Franco Citti, Leo Anchóriz, and Giovanni Cianfriglia.

The Specialists (1969)

Synopsis: A chain mail-clad gunfighter contends with a pacifist sheriff, a seductive banker, a one-armed Mexican bandit, corrupt businessmen and hippies while trying to learn the secret of the money allegedly stolen by his lynched brother.

Directed by Sergio Corbucci, and starring Johnny Hallyday, Mario Adorf, Gastone Moschin, Françoise Fabian, Angela Luce, and Gino Pernice. Cinematography by Dario Di Palma (Death Laid an Egg, Ugly, Dirty and Bad). NEW 4K RESTORATION FROM TF1.

The Slasher (1953)

Synopsis: Amongst the bomb-sites and dark alleys of postwar London Roy Walsh and his gang of juvenile delinquents waylay and rob old ladies. Without parental control from his war-widowed doting mother, Welsh, already on probation, drifts into more and more devious and serious offences. Directed by Lewis Gilbert, and starring James Kenney, Joan Collins, Betty Ann Davies, Robert Ayres, and Hermione Baddeley.

Cobra Woman

Synopsis: Upon discovering his fiancée Tollea has been kidnaped, Ramu and his friend Kado set out for a Pacific isle where all strangers are to be killed on arrival and the inhabitants, who are frequently sacrificed to an angry volcano god, worship the cobra. The island is ruled over by Tollea's evil twin Naja, the Cobra Woman, who, besides having designs on her new prisoner Ramu, also desires to eliminate any competition from her benevolent sister. Directed by Robert Siodmak, and starring María Montez, Jon Hall, Sabu, Lon Chaney Jr., and Edgar Barrier.

Dr. Cyclops (1940)

Synopsis: To assist with his work due to his failing eyesight, renowned biologist Dr. Alexander Thorkel (Albert Dekker) invites two prominent scientists and a mineralogist to his hidden Amazon jungle laboratory. Thorkel remains evasive about the nature of his experiments, and after the team evaluates his bacteria slides, he orders them away. When they refuse, Thorkel and his servant trick them into a chamber where Thorkel shrinks them down to microscopic size, and they escape to the terrifying jungle. Directed by Ernest B. Schoedsack.

Brick (2005)

Synopsis: High school student Brendan Frye prefers to stay an outsider, until the day that his ex-girlfriend Emily reaches out to him unexpectedly and then vanishes. To find her, Brendan enlists the aid of his only true peer, The Brain, while keeping the assistant vice principal only occasionally informed of what quickly becomes a dangerous investigation.

Just Visiting (2001)

Synopsis: It's 12th century France and Count Thibault of Malfete (Jean Reno) finds his beautiful bride-to-be (Christina Applegate) done in by malevolent magic. So he and his loyal servant Andre (Christian Clavier) request the help of a local wizard to right the wrong and bring his beloved back. But the wizardry goes awry and the pair is transported to 21st century Chicago where they meet Thibault's descendant Julia (Applegate) and her scheming fiancé. With their timeless values of honor and courage, they wreak havoc as they foil diabolical plots in modern-day Chicago and try to find their way back home. Directed by Jean-Marie Poiré.

The Whisperers (1967)

Synopsis: Dame Edith Evans won the Best Actress Award from the New York Film Critics Circle for her performance as a lonely old woman, alone in a slum apartment, whose "voices" tell her that she is plotted against. The "voices" are right - and no one will believe her. Directed by Bryan Forbes, and starring Edith Evans, Nanette Newman, and Harry Baird.

The Good Fairy (1935)

Synopsis: In 1930s Budapest, naïve orphan Luisa Ginglebuscher (Margaret Sullavan) becomes an usherette at the local movie house, determined to succeed in her first job by doing good deeds for others and maintaining her purity. Luisa's well-meaning lies get her caught between a lecherous businessman, Konrad (Frank Morgan), and a decent but confused doctor, Max Sporum (Herbert Marshall). When Luisa convinces Konrad that she's married to Max, Konrad tries everything he can to get rid of the baffled doctor. Directed by William Wyler.

Indiscretion of an American Wife (1953)

Synopsis: While on vacation in Rome, married American Mary Forbes (Jennifer Jones) becomes entangled in an affair with an Italian man, Giovanni Doria (Montgomery Clift). As she prepares to leave Italy, Giovanni confesses his love for her; he doesn't want her to go. Together they wander the railroad station where Mary is to take the train to Paris, then ultimately reunite with her husband and daughter in Philadelphia. Will she throw away her old life for this passionate new romance?

The Great McGinty (1940)

Synopsis: In a dive south of the border, bartender Dan McGinty (Brian Donlevy) stops a young man from committing suicide after a moment of dishonesty, and relates how a moment of honesty brought him down in a flashback. As a young man, McGinty joins a crooked political boss and rises from extortionist to alderman. Urged by the boss to marry his secretary to give respectability to his run for mayor, McGinty agrees -- only to fall in love with his wife and decide to do an honest thing for once in his life. Directed by Preston Sturges.

The War Lord (1965)

Synopsis: Chrysagon (Charlton Heston), a powerful knight, is sent to defend a coastal village. He falls in love with Bronwyn (Rosemary Forsyth), who has been promised to Marc (James Farentino). Chrysagon is filled with regret until he learns of a tradition that would allow him to take Bronwyn on the eve of her wedding. When she fails to return the next morning, Chrysagon is accused of holding her hostage. As Marc prepares for war, Chrysagon must also contend with his jealous brother (Guy Stockwell).

Ulzana's Raid (1972)

Synopsis: When word arrives that Apache warrior Ulzana has assembled a war party and left the reservation, the United States Army pegs veteran tracker McIntosh (Burt Lancaster) and Apache Ke-Ni-Tay (Jorge Luke) to lead a young, prejudiced lieutenant's (Bruce Davison) troops to find Ulzana. Outmaneuvered and unfamiliar with the terrain, the cavalry struggles to stop the long-mistreated and raging Apaches from destroying everything in their path in what initially seem like senseless acts of violence. Directed by Robert Aldrich.

High-Ballin' (1978)

Synopsis: The ruthless boss of a trucking company, King Carroll (Chris Wiggins) is intent on putting all local independent truckers out of commission, including amiable tough guy Duke (Jerry Reed). Joined by his good buddy, Rane (Peter Fonda), Duke defies King Carroll's attempts to shut him down, resulting in an increasingly tense conflict. The boys find an ally in female trucker Pickup (Helen Shaver), but can the threesome succeed in triumphing over Carroll's goons? Directed by Peter Carter.

Semi-Tough (1977)

Synopsis: Billy Clyde Puckett (Burt Reynolds) and Marvin "Shake" Tiller (Kris Kristofferson) are professional football players who share a lush Miami apartment with Barbara Jane Bookman (Jill Clayburgh), the pretty young daughter of their team's owner (Robert Preston). When Barbara develops feelings for Shake and the two begin a relationship, he insists that she join him at B.E.A.T., a New Age training program run by the shady Friedrich Bismark (Bert Convy). Directed by Michael Ritchie.

Summer of Sam (1999)

Synopsis: During the summer of 1977, a killer known as the Son of Sam keeps all of New York City on edge with a series of brutal murders. The philandering Vinny (John Leguizamo) unwittingly almost becomes a victim of the psychopath, and soon he and numerous people in his orbit -- including his wife, Dionna (Mira Sorvino), his punk-rocker friend, Ritchie (Adrien Brody), and aspiring porn star Ruby (Jennifer Esposito) -- are trying to figure out the identity of the killer, before it's too late.

Jungle Fever (1991)

Synopsis: A married black lawyer named Flipper (Wesley Snipes) begins an affair with Angie (Annabella Sciorra), his white secretary. When the news is leaked through an acquaintance, Flipper's wife (Lonette McKee) kicks him out of the house. Flipper decides to begin courting his mistress, only to be greeted by disapproval from friends, family and even strangers. The relationship continues to be strained in a society not ready to accept it, and people are hurt during its inception.

Crooklyn (1994)

Synopsis: As her teacher mother, Carolyn (Alfre Woodard), and her jazz musician father, Woody (Delroy Lindo), worry over monthly bills, grade-schooler student Troy Carmichael (Zelda Harris) banters and bonds with her four brothers. Against her will, Troy is sent to her aunt's southern home for a summer visit, but when she returns to her bustling Brooklyn neighborhood, she learns that a family member is gravely ill. Already mature, Troy is forced to face to some very grown-up facts about life and loss.

Clockers (1995)

Synopsis: Nineteen-year-old "Strike" Dunham (Mekhi Phifer) is a small-time street drug dealer for Rodney Little (Delroy Lindo), who wants Strike to kill a former dealer who stole from him. When the man turns up dead, Strike is suspected. But before homicide detective Rocco Klein (Harvey Keitel) has a chance to investigate, Strike's brother, Victor (Isaiah Washington), confesses to the crime -- and Klein suspects that Victor, a virtuous family man, is trying to cover up for Strike.
