The five surviving members of the British comedy group Monty Python are set to come together once again for a six-part documentary - '
Monty Python: Almost the Truth (The Lawyer's Cut)' - to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first Flying Circus episode (which aired on October 5th, 1969). John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin are all set to contribute, with 'Evita' director Alan Parker on tap to direct.
Terry Jones commented, "This is the documentary I always hoped that would be made — something so complete and so faithful to the truth that I don't need to watch it."
The documentary will feature guest interviews by Russell Brand, Steve Coogan, Bruce Dickinson, Jeff Bridges, Eddie Izzard, Steven Merchant, Dan Aykroyd and Hugh Hefner. It is currently scheduled to air on IFC in the US (no UK distributor as of yet), with a Blu-ray (and DVD) release following in October.
