Kino Lorber have confirmed that they will release on Blu-ray two films directed by Claude Sautet: Nelly and Monsieur Arnaud (1995) and A Heart in Winter (1992). The two releases will be available for purchase on September 24.

Nelly and Monsieur Arnaud

Synopsis: Renowned director Claude Sautet reunites with his Un Coeur En Hiver star Emmanuelle Beart in this engaging romance of longing and denial, reminiscent of Krzysztof Kieslowski's Red.

The stunning Beart plays Nelly, a disheartened young Parisian with marriage and financial troubles. Intorduced to the wealthy Arnaud by a mutual friend, Nelly agrees to assist him in his memoirs. The unlikely couple initially develop a playful flirtation: Arnaud is immediately captivated by Nelly's radiant brusque air of dignity and sophistication. This budding relationship is threatened when Nelly becomes involved with Arnaud's charming editor (Jean-Hughes Anglade of La Femme Nikita and Killing Zoe). What follows is a succession of near-misses and might-have-beens that frame the hesitations and sudden pleasures of unexpected love.

Nelly And Monsieur Arnaud features brilliantly nuanced performances from Beart (La Belle Noiseuse) and Serrault (La Cage Aux Follies) in this poignant love story where the greatest emotions are often revealed only through glances and gestures.

Un coeur en hiver

Synopsis: Daniel Auteuil (MR 73) and Emmanuelle Beart and Andre Dussolier star in this sublimely sensual, provocative and critically-acclaimed film. Camille (Beart), a concert violinist, becomes intrigued by her lover's business partner, Stephane, an aloof repairer of fine musical instruments. She interprets his distance as a sign of intellectual seduction, but Stephane is a social voyeur, incapable of emotional intimacy. The love triangle that develops reveals the complexity and imperfection of the three characters and their odd menage-a-trois relationship.
