For the week that ended on June 29th, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment's Dumbo debuted at number one on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media charts. Director Tim Burton's live-action remake of Disney's iconic 1941 animated feature, Dumbo struggled to connect with critics and audiences last March. The film garnered mediocre critical comments (it has a 51% rating on Metacritic), and it then went on to gross $114 million domestically on top of its estimated $170-million production budget. This week, Dumbo had a very strong Blu-ray market share of 75%.

Next up on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales rankings was Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment and Marvel's Captain Marvel. The MCU's first female-centric superhero story, Captain Marvel proved a sizable hit following its North American release last March. The film garnered very decent critical comments (it has a 64% rating on Metacritic), and it then went on to gross over $1.1 billion worldwide on top of its estimated $152-million production budget. The film had a solid Blu-ray market share of 67% and sold 38% as many Blu-rays as Dumbo. On the overall package-media chart, Captain Marvel sold 43% as many total units as the Disney remake.

Finally, another Disney feature - the 1950 animated classic Cinderella - rounded out the top three on the Blu-ray-only sales list. Long one of the signature titles in the Disney vaults, Cinderella received a special "Signature" Blu-ray release this past week. Regarding the Blu-ray-only sales list, the film had an HD market share of 100% and sold 16% as many Blu-rays as Dumbo. But on the overall package-media rankings, the film came in fifth place (behind Paramount Media Home Distribution's Wonder Park and Universal Studios Home Entertainment's Us, respectively) and sold 12% as many total units as Dumbo.
