Butley
Synopsis: Ben Butley (Alan Bates) is an embittered English professor whose male lover leaves him on the same day his estranged wife (Susan Engel) asks him for a divorce. To make matters worse, Butley must also haggle with his spinsterish colleague (Jessica Tandy) and face the downward spiral of a once promising career. As his life crumbles around him, Butley fights back with the only weapon at his disposal: his razor-sharp wit.

Synopsis: Three successful adult sons return home to celebrate the 40th wedding anniversary of their working-class father (Bill Owen) and mother (Constance Chapman). However, tensions and unresolved issues soon arise. Colin (James Bolam) lives a comfortable life as a businessman but feels lonely. Andrew (Alan Bates) shocks everyone when he declares his intention to become an artist. The youngest son, Steven (Brian Cox), pines for his youth now that he has a large family and adult responsibilities.

Uncle Tom's Cabin
Synopsis: In 1856, slave Eliza (Margarita Fischer) plans to marry George (Arthur Edmund Carew) with the consent of the Shelbys, her masters, but George's owner prevents the wedding. A few years later, Eliza flees with her son, Harry (Lassie Lou Ahern), after learning the Shelbys plan to hand them over to a crooked creditor to prevent foreclosure. George also escapes and goes on the run while Eliza and Harry are captured and brought back home. Mother and son are separated as George tries to find them both.
