Severin Films has revealed that it will release on Blu-ray Konstantin Ershov and Georgiy Kropachyov's classic horror fantasy film Viy (1967), starring Leonid Kuravlyov, Natalya Varley, and Aleksey Glazyrin. The release will be sold during the label's upcoming Midnight Sale, which starts this weekend.

A standard edition is expected to be sold at major retailers later this year.
Synopsis: A young priest is ordered to preside over the wake of a notorious witch in a small old wooden church of a remote village. This means spending three nights alone with a corpse, with only his faith to protect him. *Viy was the first horror fantasy film to be made in the former Soviet Union.
