Australia Clearly Blu

Sony Australia has announced that of the whopping 6,000 HD titles sold in Australia during the first quarter of the year, 90% of those titles were Blu-ray. The report also says that for the third straight quarter, total "HD category sales" are higher than non-HD models, though it is unclear what exactly is counted in these HD category sales. The announcement was made in conjunction with the release of the Sony BDP-S1E Blu-ray disc player, and the announcement of 30 Sony Blu-ray titles (all currently available in other parts of the world). With these recent announcements, and the continuing success of Blu-ray in Australia, some Aussies are saying, "What war?"
